Project Management, a StoneHenge Strength

What's in a Project Charter?

An example of StoneHenge Partners methodology is the Project Charter, a "road map" for the life of the project. It includes:

Project Overview – Client’s background with the project and how StoneHenge Partners got involved.

Opportunity Statement – The positive side of the project; i.e., cost savings, standardization efficiencies, better services, etc.

Impact Statement – Identifies all potential impact to client’s staff or requirements for additional funding.

Constraints and Assumptions – Lists anticipated technical limitations, budget constraints, and other assumptions.

Project Scope – Identifies what’s in the scope of the project as well as anything that is specifically out of scope. This ensures that boundaries and business areas are well defined.

Project Deliverables – Identifies measurable criteria that must be satisfied before the project is considered complete.

Project Approach – Identifies the general strategy for completing the project and explains any methods or processes that will be used during the project.

Effort and Cost Projections – Provides an estimated price based on initial scope and deliverables. These projections may be re-forecast during the life of the project as requirements are further defined.

Project Organization – Identifies positions required for this project.

Project Charter Acceptance – Signoff that this document meets client requirements.

Project management is ingrained into the corporate culture at StoneHenge Partners. For all projects, no matter the size or complexity, we approach the work in a systematic, organized - you might say "rock-solid" - fashion. A detailed project charter and pre-engagement documents, change-control documents during the life of the project, and weekly status reports are all a normal part of doing business here.

That's not surprising. A number of StoneHenge consultants are Project Management Professionals certified by the Project Management Institute. Our consultants have managed turn-key projects, served as project leads on in-house development teams, or a hybrid of both.

What's that mean to you?

It means leadership - not just management. "Owning" the project, not just doing the work. Leading the team, not just hiking the ball.

It means StoneHenge Partners has a proven track record assisting organizations, not only in meeting critical deadlines cost-effectively, but also in developing methodologies and procedures to assist the organization with future projects.

Here is a list of just a few of our Project Management successes:

  • Organized, managed, and defined company-wide Implementation, Change Management, and Issue Tracking procedures for all product offerings at a software development company.
  • Led a team of StoneHenge Partners staff and university staff in a complete audit of a campus computer network environment and academic business applications. Developed a complete project methodology and plan to migrate the university to a state-of-the-art computer network utilizing state-of-the-art academic software.
  • Led a team of internal staff in developing Request For Proposals (RFP), Web-based development methodology, change management procedures, and issue tracking procedures for the implementation of a re-regulated energy system for a public utility company.
