Case study

StaffMetric (www.staffmetric.com) is a web-application service provider that offers temporary staffing firms a web-enabled employee management and reporting system. Using the application, an on-site temporary staffer fills out timesheets, the client then reviews and approves the timesheets, and the staffing company imports the timesheet data into their back-office payroll system - all through a browser.

Building a web application involves all of the challenges of software application development, including code development, data handling and validation, and back-office integration -- plus all of the challenges of web design, including usability, cross-browser compatibility, and a client-branded look & feel. To solve those challenges in a methodical, systemic way, StaffMetric turned to StoneHenge Partners.

The solution

StoneHenge Partners and StaffMetric together developed, implemented and deployed 400+ pages of ASP/DHTML. Through the course of the 10-month project, we analyzed, designed, and built upon the existing SQL Server databases and stored procedures; and designed the VB script and JavaScript functions, data validations and time-management validations, and COM objects and CSS-formatted page layouts - all in a cross-browser compliant environment.

The result
