As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, StoneHenge Partners is an
11 year old IT Consulting and Staffing company that has built its
reputation around three primary service offerings;
Professional Services, Strategic Consulting, and Staffing. One
of the things we've found is that many of our customers are only
familiar with the one area of our work, not the full breadth of our
capabilities. So, this week I'm highlighting our Strategic
Consulting offering.
Strategic Consulting at StoneHenge is one of the core service
offerings we provide and involves a number of unique disciplines
that we apply to solve business problems. We harness innovative
thinking, practical tools, and proven technology to help uncover
business value, define a plan of action and solve your business
issue.
To deliver these services our team is well versed in several
core competencies which, when combined with our development
methodology, lead to successful development projects. They can
also be used as standalone tools to give laser focus to a
particular problem. These competencies include:
1) Project Management - Neither ad-hoc planning nor rigid
bureaucracy, it's a third path; intelligent growth through
disciplined planning. Our PMI certified project managers keep the
project moving forward, keep the lines of communication open and
keep risks under control.
2) Business Continuity Planning - More than IT disaster
recovery, it's a roadmap to carry your entire company through a
crisis. It starts with an assessment of one department or an
entire company and ends with a executable plan.
3) Business Requirements Gathering - Breaking a software project
into bite-size, logical chunks to make it definable, trackable, and
most of all doable. Sometimes using an outside resource to deliver
requirements makes sense, even if you plan to develop the solution
internally.
4) Business Intelligence - Mining your data, such as web site
usage and customer feedback using tools like Cognos, to uncover
action able insights and trends for business decision makers.
5) Function Point Analysis - A unique way of quickly and
accurately sizing IT development projects either to determine if a
third party bid is reasonable, to help make a buy vs. build
decision, or for helping educate your internal staff for more
accurate assessments.
At StoneHenge we have built multiple contingency plans including
one for a major food distributor and an Oil and Gas company. We are
also in the middle of another proposal for a new client and working
on a data center move plan for the food distributor.
We completed a major requirements definition effort for Tulsa
Dental Specialties as well as providing Project Management
services for AEP.
If you'd like to see how we can put these services to work for
your company, give us a call - we'd be happy to talk with you!
