As I mentioned last week, StoneHenge Partners is an 11 year old
IT Consulting and Staffing company that has built its reputation
around three primary service offerings; Professional Services,
Strategic Consulting, and Staffing. One of the things we've
found is that many of our customers are only familiar with the one
area of our work, not the full breadth of our capabilities. So,
this week I'm going to focus on our Technology Solutions
offering.
While the term "Professional Services" is fairly broad, at
StoneHenge we use it to refer to a group of capabilities/services
that focus on Business Application Development, Support and
Maintenance. This includes large or small enhancements to existing
software, custom development of new applications and software
upgrades and optimization. We can also provide continuous or
on-call production support and break/fix maintenance, as well as
performing legacy system renovation and/or migration. We can
provide these services in our resource center as a self-guided team
or at your location as part of your team under your direction.
To deliver these services our team is well versed in several
core competencies which are woven into our Nimble Project
Methodology that allow us to deliver a high-quality product. These
competencies include:
- Turnkey solutions -- We provide the resources, methodology,
tools and metrics to handle the entire development process, start
to finish. Including analyisis, design, building, testing and
implementing new applications or enhancements to existing
applications.
- Metrics-based accountability - We understand project
performance is critical to your ROI. Our metrics-based methodology
for development allows us to show you, in real time, how we are
doing against any particular deliverable.
- Disciplined flexibility - We know that change is inevitable and
our methodology allows us to make course corrections while projects
are in progress, without losing momentum.
- Project Management - Our PMI certified project managers keep
the project moving forward, keep the lines of communication open
and keep risks under control.
One project that we did in this arena was with USIS. We
built a data-exchange gateway, utilizing four StoneHenge and three
USIS employees to deliver this 1,200 hour project. Even though the
project grew significantly during the effort, the overall deadline
only slipped one week. We also enhanced a web content management
system for DTAG. The 1,500 hour project was delivered with six
StoneHenge consultants. Although the scope grew by 15% during the
project, we delivered the work two days early with zero client
reported defects.
